Chic & Sassy Bio

Chic & Sassy have been friends and collaborators for over 10 years. Their first show Chic & Sassy: The Higher the Hair the Closer to God was part of the NYC International Fringe Festival in 2002. In 2006, they co-founded the premiere NYC political comedy troupe Gender Offenders. They have worked closely with Marriage Equality New York for civil equalities and have hosted MENY’s The Wedding March across the Brooklyn Bridge for the past two years. They can be seen on Youtube.com in The Chic & Sassy Show. Chic & Sassy are currently working on their debut CD and are performing throughout NYC’s Pride week in June 2009 and additional dates in other cities this summer.

2009 Brooklyn Pride Parade

This year’s Grand Marshalls are MARRIAGE EQUALITY NEW YORK! Chic & Sassy will join fellow MENY members on the Grand Marshal float. The parade takes off from 15th Street and Prospect Park West at 7:30 PM continues along 15th Street to 7th Avenue, makes a right turn on to 7th Avenue down to Lincoln Place. 2009 Pride Rally
Saturday, June 20 at Bryant Park, 42nd Street & 6th Avenue

The first NYC LGBT Pride Rally occurred one month after the Stonewall riots in June 1969 when 500 people gathered for a “Gay Power” demonstration in Washington Square Park. It was followed by a candle light vigil in Sheridan Square. Since 1997, the Rally has been held in the beautiful and well-maintained outdoor venue of Bryant Park.
